Mango Haze Strain Info & Growing Tips

mango haze strain plants

The Mango Haze strain comes from a long line of influential cannabis strain parents that have changed what the cannabis industry produces and provided a wide variety of genetics. Given this strain’s lineage, effects and unique characteristics, I would expect this sativa strain to be nearly as popular as one of it’s indica parents, Northern Lights.

Whats great about Mango Haze is that if your looking for a daytime, functional, focusing strain, Mango Haze is a great cannabis strain for that. If you need daytime relief from medical symptoms, there’s a medical cannabis strain version too called CBD Mango Haze. So from functional, focusing and recreational to medical, this strain has you covered.

Mango Haze Strain Lineage & Appearance

Mango Haze strain is a cross between Haze, Skunk #1 and Northern Lights #5. The combination of the 3 powerhouse cannabis strains that have heavily influenced the cannabis industry creates a sativa dominant hybrid called Mango Haze that is great for daytime use and creativity.

Mango Haze Flavors & Aroma

As one would expect from the name, Mango Haze has a flavor of mango and tropical fruits on top of the sweet, earthy and mango aromas. The smoke from Mango Haze has a somewhat spicy and peppery aftertaste.

Mango Haze Cannabis Effects

Mango Haze has a cerebral high from it’s sativa effects which is great for daytime use either recreational of medical but in high doses can be somewhat psychedelic (thanks to the genetics from Northern Lights). It also has effects of increased energy, focus and creativity. Since the THC levels aren’t too high, it doesn’t have many of the downsides compared to strains that do. The indica effects that would normally be very strong given the Northern Lights and Afghani indica genetics, are actually very subtle and help to relax the body. So Mango Haze effects could be summed up as mentally stimulating and physically relaxing.

Mango Haze THC & CBD Content

Mango Haze produces and average of 20% THC content. Depending on the multiple factors that affect THC production, the levels can range between 15-24% THC. The CBD content in this strain is very low at 1% or less. There is a version of this strain that contains much higher levels called CBD Mango Haze.

CBD Mango Haze Strain

The flavor of CBD Mango Haze is very similar but with a slightly sweeter taste and it produces much lower THC content ranging from a 1:1 ratio or sometimes as high as 2:1 ratio of CBD to THC. The THC levels are usually around 7% while the CBD content is 7-14% CBD.

Since CBD helps to counteract THC effects, this helps to reduce or even eliminate the cerebral high while increasing the physical healing and relaxation. CBD Mango Haze still has the same sativa dominant effects of being focused and energized so it a perfect strain to use to get things done during the day while also medicating to help relieve any pain, inflammation or certain symptoms.

Medical Benefits of Mango Haze Strain

The medical benefits of Mango Haze are wide reaching thanks to the 2 different versions of this strain. The high THC version will help to improve the mind by reducing the effects of stress, increasing positive nuero-chemical levels and reducing fatigue. It can also help to stimulate appetite, reduce pain and helps with muscle spasms as THC helps to ease nerve related issues.

CBD Mango Haze works very well to reduce pain and inflammation all without the cerebral high of the THC making it super functional to use throughout the day. This is a great alternative for those looking to medicate, be focused and energized without being stoned.

How to Grow Mango Haze Strain

how to grow mango haze cannabis

Mango Haze take a little longer to grow and produce flowers than some strains. In 9-12 weeks it will produce flowers. If buying Mango Haze seeds to grow outdoors make sure that the climate you are growing in has mild humidity and ranges between 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit (21-26 degrees Celsius). Areas from mid California to Washington State would be ideal and some parts of Colorado. Harvesting this plant would be best done in late October and if done successfully can produce higher yields compared to growing indoors up to 700 grams per plant.

When Mango Haze seeds are grown indoors, the climate and growing conditions can be controlled perfectly with the only downside being slightly lower yields of 400-600 grams per plant. It would be best grown using greenhouse or hydroponic methods to cultivate and make sure to keep the branches trimmed, use adequate air flow a 600 watt lighting rig at minimum. This strain is resistant to mold growth and diseases while the CBD Mango Haze is resistant to mold, disease and fungal growth. The CBD version of this strain also has similar growing times.
